RETURN OF THANKS

I would like to thank all the friends who sent cards and messages of sympathy. They were much appreciated at a most difficult time. My thanks must go to Rev. Brian Fisher for his kindness and very nice service for my dear Christopher, and to all who attended. Thank you, also for the donations to 'Friends of Southwold Hospital'. The total was £450.82.

MARY BELL
Mervyn and his family are very grateful to their friends in the village for the magnificent support they have received during the past month, following Mary's death. Mervyn appreciates the many letters and cards, which have been a source of great comfort, as well as the very generous donations in Mary's memory to the Suffolk branch of S1. John Ambulance, which have exceeded £500.

SUFFOLK GROUP ANNUAL SUMMER EXHIBITION
This will be the Group's 14th Summer Exhibition and will be held in the Peter Pears Gallery in Aldeburgh from Saturday 29th May until Sunday 6th June. The Group consists of some 30 professional painters, printmakers and sculptors, all of whom live and work in Suffolk. The work on show will reflect this mix and will also feature a new print rack of mounted unframed prints and drawings.
Also on show will be work by 5 members who sadly died in recent times; paintings and prints by T.W. (Bill) Ward, prints by Verity Wookey, paintings by Katie Souter and Ken Back, and sculpture by Jane Truzzi-Franconi.
The Group was formed in 1990 when it turned out that 5 artists, who had been fellow students at the Royal College
of Art in the late 1940's and in the same year, all lived in the area. It seemed a sensible move to form a working group, adding other members as we went along. selection procedure is firm, in order to keep to the highest professional standards. The whole exhibition will show a variety of work, for the Group does not have a 'brand image'. Admission is free, so come and see us in Aldeburgh in May/ June.
