LETTER FROM THE OLM This year May looks like being a bus)' month as far as the
Sole Bay Team is concerned. On 2" May we shall be saying farewell to our curate, James Saunders, at Holy Trinity Church, Blythburgh (6.00 p.m.) James is moving to the Peterborough diocese where he will be taking on responsibility for two rural parishes as well as becoming Assistant Chaplain at HM Prison, Ashwell. His official licensing service in his new diocese will take place on 28th May. James will be sadly missed in our team; we wish him well. Christian Aid Week runs from 9th to 15th May and we will once more be arranging a house-to-house collection.
On Friday 14th May, at 12.30 p.m., we resume the monthly luncheon club - having missed out for two months I anticipate that you will all be looking forward to being well fed again! Another important date will be the team's Confirmation Service at St Nicholas' Church, Wrentham on 23rd May (11 a.m.) - there will be at least one candidate from Walberswick. The Bishop of Dunwich, The Right Revd Clive Young, will conduct the service. Please note that there will be no service at St Andrew's on that Sunday. The following Sunday, 30th May, we shall be joining with the congregation of Holy Trinity Blythburgh (at Blythburgh) to celebrate Pentecost (Whitsun) - a much- neglected festival in the Church's year - as we remember the pouring out of God's Holy Spirit on the early Church. Yours in Christ, Brian Fisher.
