Children's Fun Sports Day

Come along to the Sports Field at the end of Church Lane on Sunday the 8th of August  at 2 p.m. and join in the fun. Take part in the egg & spoon race, the sack race or the three-legged race; to name just a few of the events. Various age groups, up to twelve years old, will be organised and there will even be a race or two for the grown-ups. Free soft drinks will be available. Why not bring a picnic! Volunteers to help on the day will be needed so, if you can, please help by putting your name on the list in the Tuck Shop.

Remember Cookery Nook?

The little wooden shop opposite Fisher's Garage is going to open again for it's last two weeks before retiring forever. 14-year-old May Delaney will be running 'THE SHOP ON THE STREET' from August 02 - 16, selling lovely summer seaside stuff. Much of it will be handmade by May and a group of children from the village. We will be selling gorgeous things - from hand printed T-shirts to home made lemonade, painted pebbles to colourful beach mats. Do come and see us in this very exciting first shop. We even have a proper old wooden till.

Cakes And Coffee Morning

A reminder that the next 'Cakes and Coffee' morning takes place on Saturday the 7th of August from 10.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. in the church porch. As always, there will be a good selection of cakes and we will again have a plant stall, so call in and enjoy a cup of coffee at the same time. All proceeds to the fund for the new equal-access toilet in the church.

To The 'Rainbow' Fete 28/08

My heart leapt up when I was told
The rainbow was our theme;
Its coloured spectrum will reflect
Our varied efforts to collect,
Through stalls and raffles manifold,
The cash of which we dream - - -
Our village rainbow's crock of gold!
So come and join our happy day
And drive all cares and clouds away!

LAST CALL FOR THE RAINBOW FETE…

There is a flyer in this edition of the village news with all the details about the fete, the proceeds of which will be divided equally between the Village Hall and St Andrew's Church.  When you have found all your white elephants, nurtured your plants, looked out your finery and items for children and baked your cakes, please rush them to the stallholders listed, who will be very grateful for all your offerings.
We are planning a fun packed day for all the family and your friends too, with a Children's Art Competition (entries to the Village Hall annexe 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and a Fun Dog Show at 12 p.m. Please refer to the flyer for the classes for both competitions.
See you there…!
