LETTER FROM THE OLM
This time last year, I was enthusing about the glorious summer that we were experiencing; how things change in a year! At our diocesan clergy conference at Swanwick in June, the theme was 'Making the most of Change'. I found it reassuring to hear from a sociologist that things are changing at a much faster rate than at any other period in history - and I thought that it was just myself getting older! A few weeks ago, I met a visitor to the village who had last come here twenty years ago; he made the comment that, "Walberswick hasn't changed much". To some extent that may be correct, on the other hand, every time someone new moves here, there is inevitably change; hopefully of the positive kind. When you think about it, Disraeli was right when, in 1867, he said, "change is constant". Christians are assured in the New Testament that 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and for ever' (Letter to the Hebrews 13.8) so, whilst we might see changes happening all the time, we can be confident that our God is an unchanging God. Two dates to note; we shall be arranging a Luncheon Club in August, however, it will be on the third Friday, the 20th. Then, on Sunday 29th of September at 11.00 a.m., we shall be joining with the team at the annual Blessing of the Animals Service at Holy Trinity Church, Blythburgh. Yours in Christ's service, Brian Fisher
