Thanks

As the visitors leave, it may be a time to reflect upon how lucky Walberswick is to be so well-cared for by the many village organisations; and also time to acknowledge the contributions of the many individuals who strive to ensure that the village remains a pleasant place for us all. They contribute in many ways: for example by picking up litter on the beach and the Green, by challenging those who park or camp in unauthorised areas and by talking to those who ignore the fencing designed to protect the maram grass and the dunes.
It is not easy to confront hostile car-owners and campers or to pick up and take home unpleasant or dangerous items, but it is only by demonstrating constantly how much we care about protecting the village and its environs that we can keep it pleasant and attractive for residents and visitors throughout the year.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Thank you so much, to everyone who was involved in the organising and running of the Fete this year and to all those who came and supported the event.
It was a fantastic effort by everyone concerned. Without all the help and encouragement of so many people in the village the fete would not have been such a success.
We were so lucky with the weather and so pleased that so many people were able to come and have such a lovely time. A grand total of £4700 was raised for the Village Hall and our Village Church - a brilliant reward for all your efforts.

Thank you again.

Post Crabbing

08 September 2004

Dear Crabbing Federation,

We have returned from a day out at the crabbing championships at Walberswick and thought we would write and say a very big, 'THANK YOU'. Six adults and two children arrived not quite sure what it was all about but very willing to find out. We bought a crabbing line, had a very good lunch at The Bell then headed off to register.
We took up position and away we went, we even caught some, much to our delight! We got muddy and wet and we all had a thoroughly good time, everyone was very friendly and helpful and we built up a good rapport with the crabbers next to us, sharing bait, tips and banter.
We all came away with the same thoughts, what a wonderful time we'd had, and a great way to spend a sunny day. We just seemed to keep saying, "We've had a great day!"
We shall be back, as they say, next year and are looking forward to it already. We may even have to come down again, just to practise!
Thank you to all involved in making such a fantastic day.

There were 662 registered entrants and the sun shone!
Federation thanks must go especially to Walberswick Car Parks Ltd. and their employees and also to Jill Freud and friends.
