A Ferry Big Thank You!

Following our return from competing in the Great River Race in London on Sept 11th we would like to say a very big thank you for the tremendous support that we received. We managed to complete the race all in one piece in an overall 90th position out of a total of 270 boats. We completed the race in 3 hours three quarters and although tough going it was a fantastic experience. We would like to say a special thank you to: -

Phillip Wayre (for lending us his boat trailer), Nick Beck (for making our rudder), Paul Ireland, The Bell Hotel, Walberswick (for organising our supporters getting to London making it an extra special day), Gary Brown (providing the flag pole), Plumber on a Mission and Jo Taylor (for making us a super flag), John Palmer (lending us spare rowlocks), Martin and Willmott (for servicing and repairing the trailer so that it would get us to London), Wells Photographic (printing photographs for us for the Great River Race programme), Richard Fisk (for providing historical ferry pictures and stories for the Great River Race programme), Luke Jeans (for filming us training and racing and helping with our publicity) and to all our customers and friends for their moral support.

Without these people we would not have been able to undertake this adventure. An amazing total of  £3970.75 was raised for the Sandra Chapman Unit, James Paget Hospital from kind and generous donations and sponsorship from ferry customers, friends and the local community.

Thanks Again

CANCER RESEARCH U.K. - MINI MARKET

Once again our annual charity event for Cancer Research U.K will be held on Saturday, 4th of December in the Walberswick Village Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. As well as our usual stalls, we hope to have some Christmas decorations for sale and there will also be Christmas cards on sale.
The silent auction will again take place and we hope to have approximately 15/ 20 items. The auction proves to be great fun and is a good fundraiser. I do hope you will give us your support so as to make this event the success we hope to achieve.
