As you are probably already aware Easter will be early this year; that, in turn, means that Lent will be upon us this month. Once again an ecumenical study group will take place in the village, commencing on Tuesday 15^th February and running for six consecutive Tuesdays; please watch the various notice boards for further details. Lent lectures on Sunday evenings will commence on 13^th February, being held 6.00 p.m. at the United Reform Church in Southwold; the theme this year will be the Christian creed. Details of the first three lectures are as follows:
13^th February…"I believe in God the Father, Almighty" - Ven. John Cox, Archdeacon of Sudbury
20^th February…"I believe in God the Son" - Ms Christine Amjad-Ali - Principal of the Diocesan Ministry Course
27^th February… "I believe in God the Holy Spirit"- Canon Derek Osborne, former Chaplain of Lea Abbey
Because the Lent lunches will take place on Fridays during Lent there will not be a Luncheon Club in either February or March. Advance notice, therefore, that the next lunch will be at 12.30 p.m. on Friday 1st April - this is not an April Fools' Day joke!
Looking ahead a bit. On 15^th May we are to have a Team Confirmation Service. If anyone, young person or adult, would like to consider the possibility of confirmation this year, would you please contact either me or another member of the team within the next few weeks.
