LETTER FROM THE OLM
As I sit at my computer it feels as though spring has arrived and that winter is on the way out. Soon we shall be welcoming more visitors to the village, many of whom will have been here before, some for whom it will be a first time experience. Let us all endeavour to make them feel welcome in the village generally and in our church particularly. After giving way to the Lent Lunches during the past two months, our monthly Luncheon Club will resume on Friday 1st April, 12.30 p.m. in the Village Hall. As ever all are welcome. The Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held in St Andrew's Church on Thursday 21st April at 7.30 p.m. I mentioned in my letter in the February Village News that the Sole Bay Team were to have a Confirmation Service on Sunday 15th May. Unfortunately, due to our diocesan bishop being indisposed on that date, the service has had to be postponed to the autumn - watch this space! You may have heard, read or seen in the media information about the 2005 Make Poverty History campaign, whereby charities, church organisations, trade unions, and campaigning groups have united to persuade the UK government to get tough on worldwide poverty. If anyone is interested in joining me, I am going to a meeting about this campaign (organised by Tearfund) at St Andrew's Church, Ipswich, on 28th April, and could offer you a lift. Yours in Christ's service, Brian Fisher.
