A Competition Winner!
Congratulations to Mary Minney, who won the Village News competition for a bottle of 'Bubbly'. Our thanks to all of you who took the trouble to send in entries: making it worthwhile delving into the hat to pull out the winning name! For those of you who are wondering, the correct number was...50

RNLI Bank Holiday Mini-Fete Monday May 30th 2005 Walberswick Village Hall 2- 4.30 p.m.
Hopefully by the time you read this every house in the Village will have been circulated with the most wonderful flyer advertising the Mini-Fete, how to donate your much loved possessions and what a wonderful organisation the RNLI is. "So what?" I hear you say. The summer approaches, our lifeboats will be called out again and again - perhaps to a ship in distress, or to a boat unable to find a safe haven, perhaps (worse still) to a family member floating out to sea on an air bed. Life is precious and the RNLI need your support, in every way possible.

WI GARDEN MEETING
For our meeting on June 8th we shall be visiting the garden at Parham. After an excellent talk on the Resolutions by Celia McCarthy we were unanimous in supporting the resolution on the Care of the Environment but were more concerned about the resolution on Farm-gate milk prices. Half of the members present agreed that the farmers received adequate subsidy and were just whingeing about the supermarkets and their prices.

Village News Website Renewed! Refurbished! Revitalised!
Have you visited our website recently? If not, may I suggest that you will find it worth several moments of your time? When I took over as editor, nearly a year ago, our website was languishing in the doldrums and looking very sorry for itself. Indeed the latest edition that was available on the site was the one for January 2001! Thus it has remained for many months. However, in the background things were stirring! We have been quietly beavering away on your behalf and now, like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis, we have arrived! Thanks to many painstaking hours of hard work by Alexander Green and his colleague Tom Hammond we have a brighter, more user friendly, more informative and more interactive Village News website! Online you can now: Read the latest copy; submit your article or your favourite local picture; visit the archive section to refresh your memory about the last year's editions; provide feedback; find the latest contact details. You can also visit the 'Links' page to find out more about Walberswick and the surrounding area. Offline we also have a section of editions including those more than a year old. In short, we now have a website of which we can all be proud!
