Ollie the Tank Engine
When our grandson Oliver was four years old, he told his mother he wanted, someday, to be a train: not an engineer or a driver, a train. He was completely and utterly fascinated by the whole aspect of trains. Two years before he died the Make A Wish Foundation arranged for Ollie to ride in a locomotive, a wonderful experience, however, one that still fell short of his dream. In May of this year 'Metra' managed to fulfil that dream. To the surprise of Ollie's family, the commuter train system announced that it had named locomotive 401 after the little boy who dearly wanted to be one. The "Oliver (Ollie) Tibbles" will ply the same route that Ollie's father uses, to and from work. Ollie's passion clearly moved a lot of people in his all too short life. It is only fitting that, as he wished, it will continue to move lots of people for many years to come. Jayne Tibbles

Flower Festival
St. Andrew's Church will be blooming during the weekend of the 9th and 10th July, and the theme will be 'Special Occasions'. The church will be open on each day between 10.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., for you to come and see the work of our band of flower arrangers. There will be musical interludes to which you can listen as you look around. If any children would like to take part in a flower display in the church porch, please collect a container from me, fill it with flowers and bring it to the church on the morning of Saturday the 9th July. Also if there are any other flower arrangers who haven't as yet come forward, it's not too late to volunteer. Refreshments will be served from the garage at 'Shenburgh' (especially tidied for the occasion!) - just across the road from the church - and we will also have stalls for plants, books, etc. We would welcome help with the refreshments, cake making, plants and books for our stalls. Please contact me on 724534 On Sunday there will be two services in the church; a family Eucharist at 9.30 a.m. and a Choral Evensong at 6 p.m. We look forward to seeing you during the weekend and to another successful fundraiser for the 'Loo' Fund.
