'Youth Section' in Village News

As a result of last month's observations by the Editor over the lack of content aimed at, or by, the youth in the village, we have asked if a 'Youth Section' could be included in the Village News. Your Parish Council Chairman also had discussions on this subject at the recent Suffolk Association of Local Councils (SALC) AGM.
Maybe one person could take on the responsibility of submitting articles etc. or organising other young people to submit their own articles.
Anybody interested in being a youth 'spokesperson' please contact the Clerk on 723142.

Raymond Fisk

My name is Raymond Fisk. My uncle Ray used to live in the village for a few years and I remember him saying that in his younger days he played football with Clement Freud. My memories of the village are a bit shot as I have only been back once or so since the war. However, I can remember taking my cousins across the old 'Bailey Bridge' to Southwold for their Guides/ Brownie meetings.
My family has been in the local area for quite a while and further afield in the county since the 1300s.

An Evening Of Scottish Country Dancing

Did you hear the strains of Scottish Country Dancing music coming from a garden in the centre of the village recently?
Fifteen of us, including a party from Bury St. Edmunds, spent a very pleasant evening dancing Scottish Reels on the lawn and enjoying a buffet supper.
Dione Shirreff and Pat Wythe arranged the evening. They started a class in the village hall last winter and hope it will be resumed this autumn.
We would be very happy for anyone to join us.

Classes begin again on Tuesday, 6th September at

Everyone is welcome. See you there.
