NSPCC Up-Date

The house-to-house collection, which took place in July, raised the wonderful sum of £349.48. Our grateful thanks go to all the residents and holidaymakers who contributed, and also to our loyal collectors for their time and commitment.
Since then, we have held various other events. Gill Jones at The Tuck Shop organised 'A Pampered Chef Evening', along with the popular quiz sheets and the counter collecting tin. With the Book Swap and The Anchor restaurant bar collecting tin, we raised £322.04.
Our latest event was garden teas at Vine Cottage (by The Green), held by kind permission of Mary Clayton, and this raised £241.45.
Our small fund raising group remains dedicated to keep raising money to help the children of Suffolk.
As always, thank you for your support.

Southwold Surgery News September 2005

Congratulations to Dr Chris Castle and the rest of the crew of the Coastal Voyager on their successful round UK trip to raise money for MS and we are sure they have raised tens of thousands of pounds for the charity.
It is 'flu time again and with birds migrating here from Russia it is wise to get vaccinated this year. All over 65 and at risk get one free. The definition of "At Risk" has been changed this year to include all carers - no matter what age. We will again be holding our main Clinics in St Edmund's Hall on 12, 18 & 27 Oct. or Walberswick on Tuesday the 25th Oct.
You will be given your preferred time on your letter. If that does not suit, then call the Surgery (722326) and we will fit you in somewhere.  If you are housebound, we will be contacting you to arrange a home visit. If you get neither a letter nor a 'phone call by 25th Oct, then we have somehow missed you and you need to contact us.
If you are neither over 65, nor a carer, but would like a vaccination, then you can have one for the princely sum of £10.00.
You may have read in the press that the NHS is reorganising itself again. We are working hard to ensure that services to our patients are improved by this change, and that "Care Closer to Home" becomes a reality.
