CHURCH MATTERS

Letter From The OLM

'All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above,
Then thank the Lord, O thank the lord, for all his love'
We shall almost certainly be singing that at some stage on Sunday, 9th October, as we celebrate our harvest services. Why not join us at either the Family Eucharist or at the Choral Evensong?
Two days earlier, at 7 p.m. in the Village Hall, join us, also, at the annual Harvest Supper. For our entertainment this year we shall be welcoming a female singing group, 'Aurora', from Pakefield.
Because of the harvest supper there will be no Luncheon Club in October.
On behalf of St. Andrew's Church, I would just like to thank everyone who had any part in making our Village Fête such a success again this year; the amount of money raised speaks volumes for all the hard work that was put in by so many people, and will be very important in helping us meet our responsibility in respect of the work of the church.
For some years now, whenever there has been a fifth Sunday in the month, we have shared a service with our friends at Blythburgh. On 30th October we shall be joining with St Margaret's, at Reydon. Later that same day
(3 p.m.), our team's annual All Saints Memorial Service, to which all those who have lost loved ones or friends in recent months or years are invited, will also take place at St. Margaret's.
Yours in Christ's service
Brian Fisher
