Environment Agency - Blyth Estuary Strategy!

At the specific request of Waveney District, Southwold Town and Walberswick Parish Councils, a Public Meeting has been convened by the Environment Agency to be held at St. Edmund's Church, Southwold, on Monday 7TH November, commencing at 6 p.m. The purpose is to publicly discuss the preferred options for the future management of the Blyth Estuary.
In view of the huge turnout and concerns expressed at the public exhibition in the Village Hall (Walberswick) on 4th October, I would urge and encourage as many people as possible to attend the 7th November meeting.
Walberswick Parish Council also recognized that many had difficulty in understanding the Agency's 'preferred options' at the exhibition and David Webb has kindly agreed to hold an information briefing for residents of Walberswick in the
Village Hall to be held at 6 p.m on Thursday 27th October.
This will give everyone a chance to more readily understand exactly what is being proposed by the Agency, the envisaged time-scales and the effects that they would have on Walberswick; prior to the Public Meeting in Southwold.
Everybody is welcome to attend this briefing.

Youth Appeal!

Featured elsewhere in this month's issue is the first appearance of what will, hopefully, become a regular feature of our Newsletter.
Henry Fisher has very kindly undertaken to represent and air the views of the younger members of the village. I have to admit that this is in direct response to the poor showing, in this area, that we made in the recent countywide competition.
Like most younger people, Henry is hungry; hungry for input!
So, if you have anything you'd like to see in the newsletter or comments to make (printable ones preferably) please let him know.
Henry, good luck in your endeavours!

RNLI

Walberswick RNLI has arranged an event entitled
"An Evening of Unique Local Entertainment"
(and when we say 'Unique' we MEAN unique!),
together with Chad's famous Fish N' Chips, on Friday 18th November, in the Village Hall, from 7.30 p.m.
A bar will be available. Tickets, priced at £8.50, will be available from me from 1st November. Book early to avoid disappointment, as numbers are strictly limited.

5th November Bonfire

The bonfire on the Cliff Field is an opportunity for village residents to get rid of combustible material. Please ensure that only burnable material is dumped, no upholstery, mattress's etc., which leave metal deposits after the event!
Please make your donations towards the fireworks at the Tuck Shop.
