Harvest Festival

I should like to give thanks to all those who made this year's Harvest Festival such a successful weekend. First of all, to Brian and Christine and their helpers for such an enjoyable harvest supper.
To all who donated fruit, flowers, vegetables, and provisions.
Finally, to all my hard working and inspired band of flower arrangers, who helped to decorate the church so beautifully.

A great effort made by all.

This year's sponsored cycle ride raised £536.70. An excellent result as only three cyclists took part!
I express our grateful thanks to Denise Burchell, Rosi Gerrell and Julia Reisz who "carried the banner" for Walberswick. Thanks also to their generous supporters.
Fewer cyclists "clocked in" at St. Andrew's - 42 compared with 60 last year.
Well done, our three stalwarts!

Letter From The OLM

A big thank you to all those who helped to make our recent Harvest celebrations such an enjoyable time; a weekend full of thankfulness to God for all the good things that he has provided for us. Our village hall and our church were both beautifully decorated. The gifts of vegetables, fruit, and canned goods that were generously given have either been distributed within the village, or have gone to The Fyffe Centre at Lowestoft.
Congratulations are due to our team rector, Jane Wilson, who has been appointed an honorary canon of our diocesan cathedral. I have no doubt that this is in recognition of all the hard work that she has put in for the team and for the deanery. She is to be installed in her seat at the cathedral by Bishop Richard on Sunday 20th November at Evensong (3.30 p.m.). A coach has been arranged for people wishing to attend - please let me know if wish to be there.
Our team Confirmation Service, which was postponed from earlier in the year, is to take place at St Edmund's Church, Southwold on Tuesday 22nd November at 7.30 p.m. Bishop Richard will be presiding at that service.
Our monthly Luncheon Club takes place on Friday 11th November at 12.30 p.m. - all are welcome as usual.
Advance notice: the Christmas Luncheon Club is to take place on Friday 9th December at 12.30 p.m. - it will be necessary to book for this one.

Yours in Christ's service,
Brian Fisher
