Collie Dalley
Collie, whose funeral took place on Wednesday 9th November, moved to Walberswick with her husband Pat in 1983 and quickly made friends. Collie was soon involved in the W.I. and other village affairs; winning the Chris Gold Cup at the Flower Show and other prizes with her excellent domestic skills. She was an enthusiastic member of W.A.T.S. (Walberswick Amateur Theatrical Society) and a staunch member of the church; regularly attending both morning and evening services and serving on the P.C.C. Collie became editor of the Parish News and, indeed, once remarked to me that she believed she had come to Walberswick specifically to fill that vacancy! In the early 90s, Collie's health deteriorated following a stroke and, after Pat's death, she could no longer cope on her own. Finally she decided to go into a residential home near her family and here she spent her last eight years being very happy and comfortable. Those of us who knew and loved Collie, keeping in touch by letter and telephone, will miss her very much.

Nigel also won 'that little nearest the pin thing' (nice description Sue!)* *See last month's 'Letters To The Editor' P.S. Great round Nigel! Have you got a source for some performance-enhancing potion? If so, can we all have some for the next match? If not, can we book some lessons? Chas Elliott

Walberswick Mobile Chiropody Service
As many customers are probably well aware, this service has been discontinued. They were advised in July that their details would be passed to Waveney Primary Care Trust (WPCT), in order that they could receive further care from them. It has been established that WPCT are NOT contacting any of their patients and anybody who requires treatment, should 'phone 01502-515891 for an application form. Any other queries can be addressed to Mr. N Wright, the head of WPCT Chiropody, on 01502-527597.

Coffee Morning
A very big 'thank you' to the stallholders; cake, pie and quiche makers; ladies in the kitchen and all those who helped to set up and clear up after the event on the 29th of October. The grand sum of £1,072 was raised! You will be delighted to know that last year the Southwold/ Walberswick Branch raised £10,095. For a small branch, a record amount!

Boiling A Kettle
Manufacturers say that a kettle cannot boil over--unless it is overfilled... Too many people, says one firm, put three and a half pints into a kettle made to take only three pints!
