Directions To "Neverland"

You start at the Bell, and run like Hell,
Until you get to the shops.
Then walk you tall to the Village Hall,
The Anchor's next, in short hops.
From there you lurch to St Andrew's church,
Passing the field with corn in.
Then it's first star left and second star right,
And straight on 'till the morning!

…Be quick!
Only a few tickets remaining to see Peter Pan…!

RNLI Evening Of Entertainment

From what I hear, everybody who went to this evening on the 18th November, thoroughly enjoyed it. Not knowing that, behind the scenes, we were working on a plan conceived some months ago on the back of a fag packet!
We REALLY had no exact idea of what was going to happen, but it does seem to have been generally appreciated.
Thanks? Due to so many: The entertainers? Of course; Chad and those excellent fish and chips? Of course (if anybody would like some salt or vinegar please cross my palm with (a little) silver; The Anchor, for providing such a good bar and donating their entire profits to the RNLI? Goes without saying; The RNLI Committee? Nah - backs of fag packets!
Anybody else? Well, actually, yes - to everybody who was there for making it such a great fun evening enjoyed by so many.
Reckon we raised about £1,250 plus or minus a few tads
*. Thanks a bundle.

League Of Friends Of Southwold Hospital

This year's house-to-house collection has raised the
record sum of £916.26.
Very many thanks to my loyal band of collectors and to those who gave so generously.

Letter From The Chairman

"I am writing on behalf of the League of Friends Committee to thank everyone in Walberswick for their generous support throughout the year.
We are most appreciative and can assure you that the monies will be spent to benefit the patients and staff.
Once again, thank you so much.
Yours sincerely,

Barbara Davis"

Fish And Chips

After Chad's fish and chips proved to be so popular at the RNLI evening, on a trial basis, his van will be available every Friday evening during January at about 5 p.m. in Adam's Lane.

December Parish Council Report

Planning - Councillor Hunt attended the site meeting held by the Development Control Committee on land north of 10 Adams Lane. Members of the committee did not envisage a problem with the application going ahead. DC Leighton stated that English Nature and Suffolk Wildlife Trust were concerned about the impact on the adjacent SSSI.
Suffolk Coastal has granted permission for a conservatory at Short Lane House.
Village Precept - This will not be increased for 2006/2007.
Bailey Bridge - Repairs to the bridge will now be carried out next spring.
Pigs - The Environmental Health Officer had written to the Council stating that there was no statutory distance or laid down restrictions such as field separation, relating to how close 'free range pigs' may be kept from residential property. Also, unless the increased number of flies and rodents could be shown to be unreasonable, statutory nuisance action would be unlikely to succeed. He had checked fly control at the sites and found there was no sign of problems at the time, although he did appreciate the fly breeding season had ceased. The site will be revisited in April 2006.
Beach Clean - This was very successful and the Council would like to thank all those people who gave up their Sunday morning to help.
Blyth Estuary -Robin Buncombe (Chairman), and Councillor Webb have attended many further meetings and will be formulating the Council's response. The consultation period has been extended to 15th January 2006.

Viv Hunt, Clerk to the Council
