Letter From The OLM
What on earth (or in heaven!) can I write about when there is nothing out of the ordinary due to occur this month? I suspect that this is a question that arises from time to time for anyone writing a monthly article - you could describe it a kind of thought drought! You may have wondered what is happening about the Loo project. At the moment we have run into a slight problem over an ancient door and how to widen it to provide wheelchair access. Brian Morton, our local expert on ancient buildings, is endeavouring to resolve this sticking point with the County Council archaeologist. Once that problem is solved we hope to move on with the building project. In terms of fund raising we have almost reached our target. Our monthly Luncheon Club will take place this month on Friday 10th February at 12.30 p.m. in the Village Hall. Perhaps this is a good opportunity to once more thank all those who have any part in making this monthly event such a great success i.e. the cooks, those who set up the tables, those who act as waitresses, and not least those who voluntarily do the washing up. It is a real team effort. Yours in Christ's service,
Brian Fisher

WI: Samaritans
February 8th is the next meeting, when we will be pleased to have a member of the Samaritans talking to us about the work they do. We hope to have a full house plus any visitors, who are always welcome at our meetings. Our first meeting of 2006 opened with an excellent talk and slides from Vicky Frances who is employed by English Nature. She concentrated on the area all around us here in Walberswick and kindly suggested giving us a detailed outing of the area in the summer.
