Resolutions & Painting on Silk

On the 10th May we will learn about the Resolutions for 2006 and this will be followed by a fascinating demonstration on painting on silk given by Mrs Rose Martin.
In April we had a very well researched lecture, with slides, on the huge talent of Octavia Hill the founder of the National Trust.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting

This was held in Church on Friday 7th April, chaired by the Team Rector, Canon Jane Wilson, and attended by 16 members.
Christine Fisher and Julie Winyard were elected to serve as Churchwardens again for another year. Under the new rules they can serve for six years before having to rest for two.
Christine warmly thanked all the people who gave their time and talent so generously over the year. The PCC was re-elected unanimously.
Over the coming year Jane Wilson is hoping to organise more Team occasions in order that we can get to know one another and enjoy ourselves as well.

Letter From The OLM

As I write this letter on Good Friday, it does seem that Spring is with us at last! A reminder that on Easter Sunday we will have celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ; in a very real sense, new life springing up once more. In the Church's year, Easter is followed forty days later by Ascension Day, when we recall Christ's ascension into heaven. To celebrate that day (which tends to get lost in our secular calendars nowadays) the Sole Bay Team will be holding an Ascension Day service at St. Peter and St. Paul's church Wangford, at which the Rev. David Eaton will preside and the Rev. Caroline Hallett will preach.
Another annual event in the Church's calendar is the Archdeacon's Visitation, the occasion when all the churchwardens in a deanery are sworn in for another twelve months. This year the 'swearing in' of our wardens will take place at Huntingfield parish Church on Monday, 22nd May at 7.30 p.m. Everybody is welcome at that service.
Our thanks to Brian and Judy Morton who have agreed to organize the Village Fete on Saturday, 26th August, on behalf of St Andrew's. Please give them your support.
Good news! The Luncheon Club resumes, after its Lenten break, on Friday 12th May at 12.30 p.m. As usual the cost will be £5. All are welcome.
Yours in Christ's service

Brian Fisher
