NSPCC Garden Teas

Once again we are pleased to repeat a family fundraising event, this year to be held on Sunday 20th August between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Vine Cottage, The Green, by kind permission of Mary Clayton.
As well as delicious homemade teas, served in Mary's lovely cottage garden, there will be Tombola, bric-a-brac and plant stalls.
We would be most grateful for items for any of the stalls and homemade cakes and scones to make the afternoon a happy event. Please contact Cathryn Simpson at 'The Pyghtle' (opposite the church) on 01502 723384.
Do come along and help us raise money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

RNLI - 2006 "Must Have"

After the very successful launch of Jill Whittenbury's book entitled "MOST WANTED (Recipes)", both the Tuck Shop and Tinkers have very kindly agreed to sell it in aid of the RNLI. This will be for a limited period, or for as long as the stocks of the print run last.
Jill reports that many of her initial customers have sought extra copies, having decided that they will make super "presents from Walberswick", or - at a later date - as stocking fillers.
All profits from sales go to the RNLI - thanks a bundle Jill.

Sainsbury Bus Centre

I wonder how many people would like to hire a bus to visit the Sainsbury Centre?
If there are enough people interested, so as to fill a bus, it would probably cost about £5.50 per person.
Those interested please contact me on (01502) 723461 and, if there is a favourable response, I will look into it further.

Motor Neurone Disease Association,
Garden Party At Dutch House

It is hard to realise that it was ten years ago that I had my first annual Garden Party, which made £722.50. This year, on a very sunny Sunday 18th June, we raised a record £1905.95. This is all due to the generous support from my friends and helpers.
Particular thanks to the heavy gang who put up and took down gazebos and stalls, to all the stallholders, to the back room people in the tea room and kitchen and last, but not least, to the makers and donors of the delicious scones.
A superb effort - well done all of you!
Grateful thanks.
